Perth to Brisbane

Another  catch-up blog of our trip home to Brisbane.  Our bikes getting stolen in Perth was a big set-back for our trip as we really enjoy riding along the way. We decided to head straight home to Brisbane and think about what to do next.  We left Perth on a Tuesday and were home by Sunday. We stayed in cabins all the way back as it was very cold and we’d done a lot of camping already.  Our route home was Perth to Kalgoorlie (625kms), Kalgoorlie to Eucla (871kms), Eucla to Port Augusta (942kms), Port Augusta to Broken Hill (450kms), Broken Hill to Narrabri (942kms), Narrabri to Brisbane (590kms). It was an epic journey. The highlights of the trip home included the gold-mining town of Kalgoorlie with its old buildings and huge super-pit (the largest gold mine in the world); crossing the Nullabor Plain and visiting the Mad Max Museum at Silverton, north of Broken Hill.
