Kununurra

We finally reached Western Australia. We stopped in at Lake Argyle, before heading off to Kununurra.

Lake Argyle

We hadn’t planned to stay too long in Kununurra. It was 36 degrees C when we got there and the town is quite spread out – so it was very hot walking around. We booked in to the Lakeside Cararavan Park and ended up staying three days! We had a great site right on the edge of the Lily Creek Lagoon. We saw jacanas, a jabiru, lots of unlucky catfish being caught by the birds, and a freshwater crocodile sunning itself on the bank.  Our new camera got a good workout. So did our binoculars. It was a very relaxing stopover before  the facing the Gibb River Road.
