We finally
reached Western Australia. We stopped in at Lake Argyle, before heading off to
Kununurra.

We hadn’t planned to stay too long in Kununurra. It was 36
degrees C when we got there and the town is quite spread out – so it was very
hot walking around. We booked in to the Lakeside Cararavan Park and ended up
staying three days! We had a great site right on the edge of the Lily Creek
Lagoon. We saw jacanas, a jabiru, lots of unlucky catfish being caught by the
birds, and a freshwater crocodile sunning itself on the bank. Our new camera got a good workout. So did our
binoculars. It was a very relaxing stopover before the facing the Gibb River Road.
